Sweet Child

Listen, my child, and you will hear
Whispers crying to you
The wounds from dreams you don't remember
Echoes of bondage, dark and true
They rage like a tempest
In the dead of night
When terrors come out to play
Fly like tumbleweeds in the wind
Scream 'til they've had their say
You'll see the lightening and be thunderstruck
You can run but you can't hide
Their noses are like bloodhounds
Seeking, craving, all life inside
If you survive, you'll wish you hadn't
There's nothing you can do
Oh, sweet child, innocence gone
Your past finally caught up to you
