Just Enough Light
Blinded, beaten, by a world where
daily, darkness devours me
one transient thought at a time,
My given goal is to find a
perfect path of lustrous light to
intricately I L L U M I N A T E
where I must go.
I light a match.
The flame flickers, as if a
brash breeze is
tenaciously trying to
purposely prevent me from
Knowing where I am.
Even as I still cannot see where to go.
The flame fades and brazenly burns my
fatigued fingers.
Blackness bleeds over my
hopeless heart
As the match burns out.
