Into The Light
Lightning cracks across the sky as thunderous booms rain down.
Black storm clouds swirl through the night; there's no light to be found.
Held captive by the darkness, I long for one small flame,
Something to illuminate this pitch black world I face.
I strike a match to light a candle, but the wind blows it out.
In agony, I do the only thing that I know how.
I hit my knees and softly pray for God to help me now,
And in the midst of the roar the storm surrounds me with,
I hear a still, small voice say, "I have Light to give."
With no warning, the clouds break up, the sun comes out to stay.
This darkness I see in myself turns from night to day.
All it takes is my Lord's voice and darkness rolls away.
